TRansforming The Blues - June 2008

The Mustangs

Loved the last album Split Decision but this album 'does what it says on the tin' with a beautiful technicolour butterfly unfurling from its cocoon.

The Mustangs have evolved into a more mature band but kept their lovely raw quality with lead singer Adam Norsworthy's huge electric voice. The songs are all very poignant. This band deserves some serious loving.

"Best Blues/Rock Album of the Year" - June 2008

The Mustangs

Having seen THE MUSTANGS' dynamic, passionate live performances on numerous occasions, the least I could do, was to buy their first album under Blues Matters label, "Split Decision". It was so good I could barely wait for the new album to arrive. AND IT IS HERE AT LAST!!!

"Nothing Stays The Same" is made up of 13 all original tracks. All songs have very strong riffs accompanied with some very meaningful lyrics. The artwork is superb, which makes the CD an even more desired item.
Buy it, it won't be money down the drain!!!

Rock 'n' Reel Review - July 2008

Nothing Stays The Same

The Band’s fourth album finds them live in the studio, keeping the balance between blues and rock, maintaining a high energy level and with some intelligent song writing in evidence on thirteen original songs, with singer, guitarist, keyboard player and bandleader Adam Norsworthy writing or co-composing a dozen of them.

Blues Matters Review - June 2008

Nothing Stays The Same

I missed these guys at a Blues event about a year ago, thinking that they were just another run of the mill pub Blues band. Well, if it was the same band, I made a big mistake! This is the band’s second album for the BM! Label, and their fourth overall, and all thirteen rocking blues numbers are self-penned, performed with skill, flair and a true feeling for the music they so clearly love. This certainly isn’t the same old twelve-bar blues; interesting arrangements, Derek Kingaby interspersed harp work, and a good vocal mixture, certainly offer something different.

Record Collector Review - May 2008

Nothing Stays The Same

The Mustangs have been making waves down on the South Coast circuit since 2001 with an eclectic mix of passionate blues-rock and contemporary songwriting appealing equally to biker festival crowds and discerning musos.

Kicking off with the slick minor-key groove of Put Your Money On Me, their fourth studio outing showcases another impressive batch of riff-based rockers and cleverly crafted ballads that put The Band head and shoulders above the pub-rock pack.
