Shaman & The Monkey

Blues Is The Truth Radio, April 2012

The Mustangs

Many albums open with a bang, a fast paced and spectacular track that gets the listener hyped up for the coming musical feast. Not so in the case of the latest Mustangs album, Shaman and the Monkey. Instead the band have taken a brave decision, opening with a slow building track, starting with drums and adding, bit by bit, the rest of the band. It’s a clever choice too, giving the individual members of the band a chance to shine as it builds into a rocky piece that sets the mood for the album.
