Cut Loose
"Best Mustangs Album Yet" January 2011
"The Mustangs have been getting better and better with every album, and Cut Loose is the sound of a band on top form. Once again they include out and out rockers alongside big anthemic songs, ballads and blues. Somehow they make it all hang together beautifully and you never get a bored listening to an album that constantly changes and has many highlights.
Blues Matters Review - June/July 2010
The Mustangs are a pretty heavy rock band with some blues influence. What distinguishes this CD from many others in this crowded field is that all the songs are their own originals and that there is a fair bit of variety on display in the 11 tracks. Another distinguishing feature is the excellent harp playing of Derek Kingaby, who adds different textures that complement the guitars very well, preventing the band from having a standard-issue guitar-dominated sound.

Talking bollocks and cutting loose
How the hell did we get here so quickly? It’s the start of 2010, bloody freezing in my studio, and it seems like barely this morning that I was last writing. Well, where do I start with apologies? Having said that, this time last year, I would endeavour to write more blogs, look what goes and happens. Not a dickie bird for a full 12 months. Of course I blame the economy, and my temperamental interface mate Mac, but the truth is that time is just slipping through my boney cold fingers like so much melted snow.
